The VIH company was so impressed by what they managed to see in Switzerland in 90-s where Kamov Ka-32 was doing a hard job in an extreme conditions, that the VIH became the first customer of this rotorcraft in America. The certification of the rotorcraft was needed, and it was done in 1998, when the version Ka-32A11BC received its certificate in accordance to the FAA FAR-29. It’s interesting - letters BC at the end of the model means British Columbia, to work for the rotorcraft was certified directly. Since this time the VIH was successfully operating the rotorcraft at the most devastating conditions of heavy-lifting and logging. The safety of the operations and continued airworthiness are the subject where the FSIT applied it’s expertise.
